Star Wars - The Search for a Plot

Where is Darth Vader when
you need him?
I was worried the entire movie that Princess Leia's
false teeth would fall out

By Gary;

What the Hell was going on with Leia's mouth?  Broken jaw? Root canal? False teeth?

Many of us didn't want to see the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but we opened our wallets in the end.

How could we not go?  Star Wars is a worldwide cultural and entertainment phenomenon.  Besides, Disney needs more money. I guess firing those American workers and importing Indian worker replacements did not generate enough new cash for their Evil Empire.

Let's bottom line this review: Been there, saw that.

Repetition was largely the order of the day, but with updated special effects. My movie theater audience appeared to love the movie so maybe I am just an old curmudgeon.

Without spoilers I can say that I was mostly disappointed. Daisy Ridley playing Rey is a true star in the making. Without her the film was DOA. With good scripts she could carry a new series of Star Wars films.

The character Finn played by John Boyega was respectable. The rest of characters, both old and new, are forgettable.

We have reached the James Bond stage. We have so many films we can now rank them.

#1  -  Star Wars: A New Hope.  The one and only real Star Wars. Do not accept the "improved" version that George Lucas screwed up.

#2  -  Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.  This classic comes within a micro dot of passing the original movie.

#3  -  Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.  Loved the Movie. George Lucas was in fine form. And yes, I like Jar Jar Binks. He was a brilliant creation.

At #3 - The Phantom Menace
A far, far better movie than The Force Awakens.

#4  -  Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi.  There are many things about the film I did not like, but the original cast being there pushes the film up the list.

#5  -  Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  The truly original parts of the movie are fairly good, but the original cast members need to die in a tragic garbage masher accident.

#6  -  Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. The last two films had moments, but I was royally pissed of that Darth Vader never appeared.

#7  -  Star Wars: The Revenge of the Sith.  The weakest of the series from my view point.

The Return of Darth Vader

Rule number one of the science fiction universe: A good character cannot die.

Superman, the Joker, Professor X, Wolverine - - - they live forever in the hearts of fans and on the big screen.

Darth Vader cannot be allowed to die off. The FANS WANT HIM not some pussy Vader-lite character. Let's say Vader did not die in The Return of the Jedi but used the force to slip off to an alternate dimension.

Whatever it takes Vader must return. Hey Disney, Vader in a movie would sell tickets.  Make it happen.
