Binge watching iZombie on Netflix

Buffy is reborn as a Zombie
The best of the newer shows on TV

By Gary;

I am staggered by the flood of original programming science fiction / action adventure shows that have appeared on standard networks, cable channels and Internet services.

As the ultimate fanboy I have entered a form of Heaven as well as Hell.  It is Hell because there are so many damn shows out there I can't even begin to get involved in their plotlines.

But I did manage to catch a couple partial episodes of the CW network show iZombie.  Partial episodes with endless commercials. I learned more about car insurance and cell phones than I did about the program they sponsored.

Netflix Binge Watching

The idea of the show intrigued me. Thank God for Netflix.  So I binge watched season one without those pesky commercials. No commercials effectively makes TV shows mini-movies.
iZombie was a DC comic

With Netflix iZombie totally won me over. The show shines in the tradition of Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

The viewer gets The Walking Dead meets CSI  but as a comedy.

Seattle medical resident Liv Moore (Rose McIver) is turned into a zombie at a boat party. To feed her brain eating habit she takes a job in the King County morgue.

When she eats the brains of crime victims she gets flash backs of the murders. So we get a zombie medical examiner helping the police solve crime while battling the "evil" zombies out there.

I can honestly say there has never been a show like this on TV.  It is a combo of single girl in the city, detective show and self mocking zombie action.

The humor is clever, original and comes at you from unexpected directions. Comic book illustrations are used to open scenes.

Actress Rose McIver as Live Moore dominates the screen and is a true star. She manages to pull off both the comedy and the drama of each show.

The review site Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 92% approval and I heartily concur. Fans of horror and sci fi need to check out the show.
