The Betrayal of Afghanistan Begins

Betrayal is nothing new to Americans.
A phony political hack named John Kennedy once said, "we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty."  Within 90 days of becoming President,  Kennedy betrayed these Cuban Anti-Communists leaving them to die at the Bay of Pigs, April 1961.

Under pressure from the White House for steep reductions, U.S. spending to support the Afghan Army will be slashed by 50%.

By Gary,

It is a burden to be right all the God Damn time.

I put out a warning in July for the leaders of Afghanistan to watch their backs and be ready for betrayal.  See our article:  "THE FEDERALIST  -  Betrayal: It's American as Apple Pie".

But the time table of the betrayal got moved up much faster than I thought it would.

The L.A. Times reports that the Pentagon is planning to slash U.S. assistance to Afghanistan's army and police by more than 50% over the next three years.  The White House increasingly views high spending on the beleaguered Afghan military as unsustainable and has pressured the Pentagon for steeper cuts than previously planned.

The cutbacks, along with already planned reductions, would shrink annual U.S. expenditures on Afghan security forces from nearly $13 billion to well below $6 billion in 2014, the officials said.

The U.S. pays almost all the costs for Afghanistan's military and police and probably will continue to do so in the near future because the government in Kabul takes in only about $2 billion a year from taxes and other domestic revenue.

Douglas Ollivant, a former National Security Council aide under Obama and President George W. Bush, was quoted that the administration has recognized that "they've got to get to budget reality and that Afghanistan is unlikely to collapse before the 2012 election" .

AMAZING:  It is nice to know that the lives of soldiers and civilians mean nothing to this steaming pile of bi-partisan political crap.  All that matters is Afghanistan does not collapse before an American election.  That might upset voters you know.  Can't have that.

It will just be a matter of time now until the aid to Afghanistan is cut slice by slice and the nation goes the way of South Vietnam.

This is what makes me sick out the professional liar Beltway political class.  Those speeches about being proud of our troops or backing our allies are all bull shit.

It has always been about, and will always be about the Elite keeping and expanding their power.

If I may be so bold, may I suggest to Afghan President Karzai this lovely hillside view home
in the south of France for only 28,000,000 Euros.  It is always best to plan ahead for your retirement.
